Don Brunson

Senior Relationship Manager

Don serves as Senior Relationship Management for Fortiter Wealth Management. He has spent more than 40 years in commercial banking and asset based lending, specializing in financing privately owned businesses in Houston. Helping people expand their companies with the right structure and the correct leverage has been a key to his success. Building personal relationships has been Don’s passion throughout his career.

Prior to Don’s career in banking, he spent three years in public accounting with Price Waterhouse & Co., and is a CPA with a retired status.* Don went on to serve in leadership positions at several local community banks in Houston, including Allied Bank of Texas, Houston National Bank, Heights State Bank and Northwest Crossing National Bank.

Prior to joining Fortiter Wealth Management, Don was co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Bank of Houston, a community bank with beginning capital of $20 million. Under Don’s leadership Bank of Houston was sold in 2014 to Independent Bank, a publicly traded bank with headquarters in McKinney, Texas.

Don graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Louisiana Tech University. He is a member of Fuller Seminary, Houston Business Development Board, and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Houston. He has been a Bible teacher in several local churches for 15 years.

Don lives in Houston with his wife Marcia and they have two daughters and five grandchildren. He enjoys golf, football, and travelling.
